London CNN —If you drive an older, polluting car anywhere in London, starting Tuesday you’ll have to pay a princely charge of £12.50 ($15.70) per day.
That followed the implementation of road pricing in 2003 aimed at reducing congestion in central London.
The charge applies 24/7 to gasoline cars generally first registered before 2006 and diesel cars registered before October 2015.
New York City is now finally catching up.
The New York toll is designed to lower the number of vehicles entering the congestion zone by at least 10% every day.
